Crash :(
A little over 2 weeks into ownership of my D3, and some idiot decides to ignore the yield signs on a roundabout and drive out in front of me, resulting in a rather badly damaged toyota and a damaged bumper on my d3. Thankfully he was more than willing to admit full responsibility and liability (as he was clearly totally in the wrong) for the accident, though I'm still really upset that my new (to me) d3 has been damaged.
I'm going to need a new bumper, wheelarch moulding, a new headlight (as it's been scratched by the wing mirror of the toyota), 2 new foglights (seem to be letting in water - both are fogged up), a new parking sensor (which I already temporarily fitted, as no PDC was a real problem!), and all the surrounds, clips, etc.
My D3, with things put back together as best as possible untill the replacement bits arrive;
The offending vehicle;
The scene of the accident - I didnt see the toyota untill too late as he came from almost behind me.
Cost; approx €1200 plus vat for the bits, and awaiting quote for labour/painting/etc. Hopefully the other guy won't try and hold up the insurance claim!

Sorry to hear about your misfortune - hopefully shouldn't be too tricky to sort out.
You do have to wonder quite how they didn't see you

I've been told that a lot of the locals tend to ignore the roundabout altogether when going straight through and don't bother slowing down!
I didnt hit him hard at all, only for the ground was wet I probably would have stopped just in time. It was his forward motion that caused all the damage, as his car pulled my bumper outwards and sortof sideways. If he had been stopped when I hit him, I doubt I would have suffered any damage. The bumper is sitting forward around 3cm at the passenger side, and has been shoved around 1cm towards the drivers side. There was a mark from his mirror on my wing, but luckily it polished out quite easily. The movement of the bumper seems to have dislodged the foglights.

A notable difference in damage.....I wonder why that could be 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Yes, on a positive note, the D3 certainly gave the Jap a hiding.
The dissapointment when you have a new vehicle damaged however is horrible. My 3 month old D3 was parked in an underground car park under a leak unbeknown to me. 1 week later there was a stalagtite on the passenger door - Lime had to be forced off leaving big scar which will need to be repainted.
Hope your claim goes smoothly mateCaptain Nick Medhurst would ask:

I was surprised at the lack of 'serious' damage to the d3 to be honest. It wasn't a very large bang (well, I can't really judge, as I've never had a crash before) but as I got out and saw his damage, I was expecting something similar on mine (dented wing at least), but luckily the bumper took all the force of the impact.IE - 05 D3 TDV6 HSE - Zambezi Silver
