Hi There, been lurking for a while. Hope to get a discovery 4 in the summer, only got a 15k budget but think I can get a nice 2010 HSE or XS for that.
Coming from an Audi A6 Avant which has a fair few toys, so I'm thinking more the hse as I don't think I can go halogen lights from xenon's.
Had a Range rover classic 20 years ago and my Dad bought my brother and I up in a series 2a lightweight

Hello
I have been lurking for a while so thought why not join and say hi, I'm a member over on ffrr & rrs as I have one of each but sadly not a D3 but please don't hold it against me, I have had D1's & 2's in the past but skipped the 3 and got one with a skirt lol.
I like to get my hands dirty which is handy with this marque and hopefully I can give something back

New Norwegian member saying hallo
Now it is many years since i have had any Landrover. I've had 2xSeriesIII, 1xDisco1, S3 Firetruck and a RRC. However the last 6 years i have had a 78mod Cadillact Fleetwood. I missed the LR cars with all their charming faults so it was time to get a 2006 Disco3 HSE 2.7l.
Of course i read that a diagnostic equipment is needed so i ordered a IIDTool BT the day I bought the car (2 weeks ago). I got the tool on Tuesday this week and the first fault came yesterday. So i tried the tool but i was not able to solve the two "minor" problems
VIN SALLAAA146A352733 Model L319 - Discovery 3 2006 Vehicle scanned on 14. mar. 2017 19:32:50 IIDControl 2.9.4.5 Android - IIDTool BT V3.0 B2204 Body Control B1B02-28 (2F) Low frequency coil - General signal failure - signal bias level is out of range/zero adjustment failure ( on 26-01-2015 23:18:42 at 211030 km ) B1C57-14 (2F) Passive start ignition relay coil circuit - General electrical failure - circuit short to ground or open ( on 26-01-2015 23:18:38 at 211030 km )
So i guess i have something to do this weekend as i have no clue on where and how to start finding the faults
Wish me luck
Have a great weekend
Regards
Eirik

Dismjdun - 2006 TDV6 HSE Auto
Hello all,
I thought I would introduce myself and of course my Disco to the forum.
I've owned plenty of Defenders and Range Rovers over the years, and after having a 2006 TDV6 S Manual for a short time last year, I realised how good the Disco 3 was, and finally bought one earlier this month. The good points are that its a fully loaded version, with a very good body, and interior, the bad news is everything under the bodywork is going to need replacing in the next few years.
I've so far replaced the discs and pads, given it an oil and filter service on the engine, replaced a spit intercooler hose and a seized lower steering column shaft. The timing belts are waiting to be fitted in the next few weeks. New air bags, suspension bushes, and brake lines will need to be replaced at the next MoT I reckon.
I've used the forum for its knowledge already, hopefully that will continue and I can contribute my own experiences in the future too.

Got my discovery 3 last June, I've completely fell in love with it. Best car I've ever owned!
I've been reading this forum, the information on here is great. So now my Disco obsession begins. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions for all you guys to help me with!

Newbie.
Hi guys,
After a 4 year spell being a bmw x5 owner i am now back with a disco 4. wanted one for a while so i have now bitten the bullit. I will be collecting it From Mark at Car Select 1 in Kilmarnock this Saturday. My last disco was a 3 and my faithful td5 before that. I do a lot of miles for my job so was thinking of getting the disco 4 chipped. Anyone done this? any advice?

Hi all
Hi all I'm buzz and my wife is bee
We upgraded from a freelander 1 to a disco 3 about 2 weeks ago, and I've managed to break it all ready,
We got it for a good price I think due to it not being looked after that we'll by the last owner, this I plan to change,

Hi all,
Joined the forum as I am wanting to buy a Disco 3.
Have just got back from overseas and had after driving around in brand new hire cars, realized just how dated my 300tdi Disco 1 feels. That and for a while have wanted more power for towing and and all round more comfortable car.
Hopefully can learn a thing or too from this forum.
Cheers

Hello All,
I'm quite new to Landrover and have only owned my 2013 discovery 4 XS model for a couple of months. After searching through various threads in the past I thought I would finally set up and account as I have came across my first fault and I know these forums are hidden gems of useful information and technical support that can save time and money on expensive repair bills.
Anyway, look forward to any responses I receive when I get round to posting my fault explaination in the relevant section
Thanks
Ben

Hello from Portugal
Hello,
I'm Jose based in Lisbon-Portugal, and I've just bought my 2006 Disco 3 TDV6 HSE. I'm really enjoying the car, a massive step forward vs the Disco 1 and 2 I had before. The D3 came with the 19" 6 spoke wheels fitted with General Grabber AT tires but I'm looking to swap these for a set of 18" 5 spoke wheels (Part Number RRC500242MNH) to make the D3 softer when going off-road.
If anybody knows where I can buy a used set or has one for sale I'd like to know or make a swap. I'm also looking for the boot cover (part number LR018337), which was lost by the previous owner.
Any info on where I could get these parts from (breakers, used parts dealers, etc.) will be most appreciated.
I'm planning to drive the D3 to the UK next June for the Dunsfold Open Weekend in Surrey and I have an address in the UK, so shipping these parts over to Portugal
should not be necessary.
Look forward to hearing from someone about this.
Kind regards
Jose

Hi All,
Thank you for letting me join the group.
I have just purchased my Discovery 3 HSE. It has every extra, including the dodgy auto box. Which has a bad shudder. lol. I was going to put 2 tubes of Dr tranny in it for the time being. I hope this stuff works.
