New comer
I will like to high to all and thank you all for allowing me to be part of this outstanding and very informative forum. I have been a long time Land Rover enthusiast since my childhood. I recently bought a 2006 LR3 SE and you know the headaches that come with it. Being a DIY, I have spent a lot time reading this forum and it has led to nail my problem. I love the ride and I'll love to have for a long time. If this forum has taught me how to look for faults, then this forum can teach me the technical know- how to get this baby on the road that why I'm joining Thanks[/i]

Hello
Hi all, just taken the plunge to upgrade to a D4 after 18 years of Discovery Series 1 300tdi ownership. Still keeping the old girl, as the only letdown in 190,000 miles has been a split cooling header tank and I'll continue to use it for short local journeys. Totally amazed at the progress made with the new model, the comfort, the power, the refinement, a truly wonderful product. I just hope to experience as many trouble free miles as with the previous model.
Can see that the forum is a fantastic source of information and help and have already got my eyes on some of the must have upgrades. I think the first must be a spare wheel protector.
Cheers Mark.

New to LR, new to the site!
Hi everyone, I recently bought a 2010 Disco 4 XS in Izmir Blue. She's done 80k, has a FSH and a nice spec including xenon lights with the LEDs, surround cameras, tinted glass, power folding mirrors, and a few other niceties. Got a good deal on it as the timing belts were due.
I had the timing belts done and a major service at the local specialist. The top intercooler hose fell off (jubilee clip disappeared into thin air) the day before Xmas eve and a MAF sensor packed in a couple of weeks ago. The local specialist sorted the latter.
In between those two I stripped and rebuilt the tired compressor. Not a bad job really. I soaked all the fittings in WD40 a couple of weeks prior to doing it and didn't need to cut the back air hoses.
I gave the brakes a strip and service last weekend and I've just picked it up today after having its MOT (passed!!), the lower control arms, laser wheel alignment and a gearbox flush. Returned home £1300 lighter but it drives so much better now!
I'm loving owning it, it's already at the top of my favourite car list. Never had a Land Rover but rebuilt a couple of Nineties with my mate. The Disco fits the bill perfectly having a baby and a toddler. It shallows luggage and wafts you from place to place. Just got to pop my off-roading cherry one day soon.

Hello all!
Just arrived and thought I'd say hello!
Just found the forum online today after a whirlwind purchase of a Discovery 4.
I pick it up tomorrow morning so technically not an owner just yet!
It's a 2012 HSE with a few extras in Orkney Grey.
A bit late for some questions but hopefully a great place to ask more in the future!
Until tomorrow
Rich
