Good evening all. I'm Jason and recently bought a disco 4 he after my freelander td4 had covered 240 000 plus miles and let it go. Needed a bigger truck for towing a caravan. It's the best ever vehicle I've had for looks and so comfy. I have done a lot of upgrades to it. Biggest upgrade to do is the brembo 4 pot calipers conversion. I shall upload photos of the goodies soon as I've done brakes. Got my stickers on the disco front and rear. Hope to get a lot out of the site should I need it. Thanks guys. Jason.

Mornin' all. Just joined. Had my 2012 MY D4 XS for 2 years nearly and just got around to it. (Shame on me etc, I know.).

Hi,
I have just purchased a 2005 discovery 3 will be collecting on Friday evening. This is my first venture into disco territory having been a long time shogun owner...... I hope I have bought a good example? I guess time will tell, either way looking forward to grazing through the forum and learning a bit more about my new car!

Hi all, another newbie from Ireland. I have my Disco 3 since October and so far so good; 1 owner before me, 122k on the clock and no issues to report!

Been wanting a Disco for some time, and now is the time for me to buy. Currently I have the baby brother Freelander, which I have looked after and has been cheapish to run even though I have replaced the clutch and some other bits. I have enjoyed it - but now is the time to get the real thing.
I am looking for ... must be black with cream leather, mileage 60-80K heated seats NO sun roof 07 or 08 build (if it's D4 speced that is good) anyone out there wants to sell?

Mmm please could anybody tell me why when driving home tonight all my dashboard gauges went off all other lights remained on thankfully revs speedo fuel and temp were as if there's no key in ignition and even the small led displays were o
Off then after a moment they all came back alive only to do the same again checked 5 amp fuse seems fine! Anybody know what to do???

Hi, I am a first time disco owner. We have just bought a 2005 tdv6 s (manual) and so far we love it.
Only problem so far is parking sensors not working. It is under warranty with the dealer though, so will be taking it back for them to fix if I can't find a simple solution.
If you have sensors switched on, there is a long beep when you put car into reverse but then sensors don't work.

Long beep is probably the error tone warning you they aren't working

Very common problem - mine don't work when it's very wet. All ok when it dries up....

Afternoon all!
Just thought I'd make a quick post to say hello! I'm a bit of a newcomer to the Disco 3 scene, but I have already owned a Disco 2 for 15 months up until December (terminal chassis rust eventually claimed it, sadly).
So after a month of searching - looking at three Discos and three L322 Rangeys - I finally picked up a 2006 NI-registered HSE Auto on the 2nd of Feb:

Picking up the new Disco was...interesting, to say the least. The Disco sank onto its stops before it had even left the first town with a major suspension fault. All credit to the garage (Campbell Fairfull, just to shout out), - they took it back, fixed the two broken sensors and it was finally delivered a week later. After that slightly shaky start though it's already proven to be a fantastic vehicle - my current aim is to fit a set of smaller alloys with bigger All-Terrain tyres and take it off-road proper! Perhaps one day finally tackling the road to Camasunary...

D3 deposit paid, 7 days until collection
Had a couple of Freelander's in the past, been driving an Antara for the last three years but always wanted a Disco so today put a deposit down on a Discover TDV6S Auto in silver.
Looking forward to next Saturday when I pick her up

Quick hello to all
Been driving Freelander 2 last 2 years and now finding its not big enough for my huskies (and people )
While the car was bought from LR it has ran absolutely faultless having any faults I found fixed by LR
Now in the next couple of months I'm looking for a 2010 disco 4 and will be looking for a couple of good pointers as most things you read about on the web are all bad .
Not having quite enough dough to buy from LR this time in reality its going to be something with around 100K on the clock .Knowing that these cars can run for a good few 100k if well looked after I think I should be able to find one .
would like a few pointers about things to look for when buying used.
