Heat shield damage

Further to the exploration of TFC's excellent advice with my service man at GS...I can confirm that a cracked or snapped heat shield fairing caused by off-road activities IS covered by the warranty. Wink

Cheers TFC Thumbs Up

Did you use the 'are you telling me this vehicle isn't designed to go off-road' line? Very Happy

That's good news. I just added a bit of wear to my undersides last weekend:

Unfortunately that's not the heatshield DG was referring to... Sad
'our' issue was with the rigid & brittle heatshield between the exhaust pipes and the spare wheel
looks like you've given the fuel tank shield a good tw**ting as well Shocked

Good to see the shield did its job, and did not peel off like a piece of tin foil.

Yeah, that thing is pretty thin. I'll be hammering it back to flat this weekend. Not quite sure how to pull the plastic gas tank back into shape.

What I wouldn't give for a few more inches of ground clearance!

Fuel tank should be OK once it's been filled with fuel a few times and left in the heat of the day 8)
did you get it into extended + manual mode?

Coil springer. 7.5" of clearance, and dammably sensitive exhaust piping

As a matter of interest, what is the ground clearance of an air sprung D3 in off-road, and extended mode?
