Hi all.
I've an intermittent problem with my 2005 Discovery 3. The warning messafeoccasionally comes up saying coolant level is low. I've checked many times and its not! Message will then go off by itself. I've been told it could be a faulty sensor or the float in the header bottle.
I cant find either the sensor or the float!
Any ideas gratefully received.

Hi From what i read on here some earlier vehicles had porous floats so after a while they didn't float so well and gave inaccurate readings as posted a warranty issue.

Mine did this a few times on the coldest days of the winter - about -11'C if I remember.... No freezing of coolant and level was good.
Nothing since... 2006 D3 finally swapped for a 2016 D4 Graphite in Graphite grey. No mods

This is a known issue, fortunately mine was replaced under warranty. I think they have to change the bottle/ tank?
