Does anyone know if a LR D3 winch will fit a D4 - I have a D3 and looking which is approaching the end of lease. I'm thinking of taking it off and refitting it to a new D4. I also have the LR underbody protection to go with the winch. Any experience with this, any suggestions ?

I dont think you would have any problem, all the bits behind the bumper are probably the same. Also, if you look at the p/no given for the D4 winch on the duckworths landrover site they give the P/no for the D3 winch (version 2 - VUB501471). I think the only difference in the second version is the manual, which now shows fitting to a RRS as well as the disco. It is the latter I fitted to my D3 recently.
Maybe ring duckworths to get clarity - they may just have the wrong p/no listed, if not they are pretty much confirming the compatibility.

I think the underbody protection is different. Have a look in MrH's gallery as he recently fitted all that to his D4. The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
