I obviously have no idear of what you are hinting at with regard to a particular Clock spring for sale
could it really be the clockspring though as the cruise control buttons are working fine.
Is there a connection at the back of the audio unit itself that I can check?
Or indeed at the back of the clockspring?
Thanks

Most of the time, when one works and the others dont its a failure to the clock spring, but in instances I have read its normally the cruise that plays up TBH.....
I would do a further search on the forum or even a pro regarding where to go next, did you buy privately or dealer, as you have only just received the D3 I would have thought they might cover this issue so soon.

I've been reading through a load of old threads and it does seam the clock spring can cause the issue.
I did buy the D3 from an independant LR dealer, but rather a long way from home to just pop back with an issue.
To their credit they have agreed to help out with any repair costs for both the Parking sensors and the audio buttons.
Your clock spring is on my 'watched list'.
Part of the problem is I like doing this sort of stuff myself as it's the only real way to get to know a car so I've dived in with both feet.

After reading a few of the old threads, and checking my chassis number was between the numbers that are recognized to have an issue with the clock spring I thought I’d try my luck with my local LR dealer. Guy Salmon Portsmouth
I called and explained I’d just purchased a D3 from an independent and was just checking to see if there was any outstanding recalls to be carried out.
The guy on the other end of the phone said there was only one outstanding item to be done, which was a Rotary Coupler wiring modification. Great I thought.
When I explained that my Audio buttons weren’t working and I was concerned about the airbag also being affected, he said that it shouldn’t cause any issues with the steering wheel controls or airbag, and I got the impression he wasn’t talking about the clock spring. He was very vague when I asked what the Rotary Coupler was.
What else could a Rotary Coupler be?
Obviously I’ll book it in to be done anyway, but am wondering if the ‘Rotary Coupler’ is the same as what we call the ‘Clock Spring’.

No need to be sorry, what you did was a suggestion I made to you in trying the dealer 1st. Saving pennies is what it's all about and am chuffed you are getting it sorted.
Was it it last serviced with LR?, if not and as u r on a roll ask if it's got the latest upgrade/enhancement. Probably has, but worth checking

Sorry to semi hijack the thread....
I have some issues with my Cruise switches. Sometimes i cant turn the cruise control on, sometimes it is working nicely.
Sorry for my english, but what is the clock spring...i didnt quite understand.....
I couldnt find any translation that make sense to me.......
Wooopsss....found it (Picture stolen from the internet.....)
But does it make sense to buy it second hand, if there is so many problems......
It seems to be a medium time consuming fix, so i prefeer not to do it in six months again because i want to save small money.
How much is a new Clock Spring....????

Thats my item on an auction site
Its what Landrover also refer to as the Rotary Coupler, it fits behind the steering wheel and connects ALL the buttons on the steering wheel to the D3. Basically its like a cartridge holding the old style FOIL that receives signals from the buttons and passes onwards to the relevent destinations.
Failure of Cruise control, intermitant or not is normally a faulty clock spring and is a known fault with landrover, so firstly I would approach the dealers as your D3 may have missed a recall or modification.
My clockspring, the one in the pic was replaced in May/June last year for the same fault, and only removed due to a modification that needed a different clockspring. My new one cost in the region of £195
