Tyre pressure monitor.
Do we have it or not?
My handbook describes it & shows the amber warning symbol, which is meant to illuminate briefly during the system check stage. I can't see this symbol on the dash of my "06 HSE & always thought that a pressure monitor wasn't fitted.
I have a friend who used to have a Renault Laguna that was fitted with TP monitors and they were nothing but trouble! Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

I did 2 months in a Ford Explorer last summer in Washington, it has pressure sensors. The only thing that alerted me to the tyre deflating was the hisssssssssssss, not the system. Lucky I heard it as was miles from nowhere on a logging track & no phone coverage. Managed to get to a town before too deplated, then warning went off!

On the Mini, it uses the ABS senor to detect that a deflated tyre has a different circumference, as the deflated tyre will spin at a different speed to the others. It's a simple method that doesn't need much extra technology.
You have to press a button near the handbrake to reset the system when you have checked all the tyres are ok and correctly inflated.
I could see that if LR used this method, it would immediately flash up as soon as you went off road when the tyres started to slip.Matt

All North America LR3/Disco3 and RRS now have TPMS as of December builds... it'll be "mandatory by law" in US soon.
