Guy Salmon Stockport
60K service at Guy Samon Stockport on 22nd March. Best delaer price locally at £365 all in, but during the service the service dept. rang to say the front discs and pads needed replacing and in all fairness they probably did.
Quoted £249 over the phone, and after checking local LR specialists at £230 for the same job I autroised the work since £20 difference was more than made up by the hassle of booking elsewhere.
Imagine my surprise when checking the biull that they had actually charged £349 for the discs and pads
No effort on behalf of the dealership to accept any part in this and aletter is on its way to the dealer principal although probably more for my benefit than leading anywhere.
In my unhappy four years of using North West dealers for servicing I have yet to find one that I would recommend, and certainly none that I would dream of approaching for my Disco 4 purchase.
Is there a decent LR dealership in the North West of England, probably not?

I have had mediocre (at best) service from Hatfields (liverpool) and Williams (manchester)
won't be going back there no she's out of warranty.
I believe Stratsones in Bury has had positive reviews by some here, and Lakeland in Coniston has had good reviews also - but might be a bit of a trek from Manchester way.
I'll be looking for a good independant come service time in September.

Used Salmons in Stockport once, no problem
Used Williams lots of times, always found OK

Stratstones of f Bury did my egrs last week, recall re vacuum pump and anti roll bar bushes on the same day. Firstclass courtesy car provided and constant updates during the day by reception staff. Ask for Barry. Top man.

go there frenchy then you can see the lovely mel too(a woman )
