oil from FBH
I have noticed two patches on the floor, Under where the exhaust for the fbh is. It seems to be oily. but dries a little white ish. has anyone else had this? is it normal. had the car for over 6 months now and its only just started. No other car is ever parked in the spot where the D3 goes and the tarmac was new so it is from the D3 for sure.Current: D3 commercial
Past: but not forgotten D3 HSE x2, 5 TD5 disco2's, 1 200tdi disco1, 2 300tdi disco1 one of which was a commercial, Off roader with a rather large spec, ARB's and big travel suspension to name a few.

It can only be residue from the exhaust fumes as only the fluids that enter the FBH are diesel.

Pete thanks, I guess it could only be that but I have put my fingers up exhaust to feel for this. There isnt any only soot. not even condensation.Current: D3 commercial

Stick your finger up the tube
(when cold) - sooty, so when it condensates, black drips!
At least yours works!

As Pete's already said, it's only diesel that goes into the FBH so whatever's causing the patch can only be diesel related.
Have you tried putting a drip tray underneath to see if you catch anything!Clubs Mantec, Tasmods, LEDS, AT2s on 18s, Maxxis Bighorns on 17s, Remote FBH, BAS. ReMap, BSS., RLD Personalised SWP., Safari Snorkel, Faultmate, Three Musketeers & MUD

Has anyone seen that much unburnt diesel coming out of the FBH exhaust? I haven't
If it isn't the FBH and it feels/looks like oil, could it possibly be the power steering reservoir? 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Paul - good point - all the reservoirs apart from brake are in that place - could be leaking and dripping down the pipe?

Yep - that's what I was thinking...it would also be very easy to check by just sticking your fingers around the side of the PS reservoir and seeing if there's any fluid where the pipes go into the bottom...2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG
Or you could check the level in the PAS reservoir I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Ahhh...but that wouldn't tell you were the leak was coming from.
It's just as quick to stick your hand under and see if there is fluid there....if there is, then you will also know where the problem is....
