Modifications wishlist

I live my MY10 D4. I really want to keep it for a very long time, so am prepared for the regular repair/maintenance bills.

However, in quiet moments, I like to dream what life would be like if I won the lottery. Would I get a new car? Probably not. The D4 is my own dream car. But what I would like is to put lots of mods on it to make it more rugged. Like:

- underbody protection
- long-range fuel tank
- winch
- expo rack
- spots
- rear ladder

Basically, try to have it tricked out like my friend's D3 G4.

Once lottery cash is in, I'll be off touring the globe in the D4 so would need these mods.

Has anyone tried crowdfunding as an alternative to the lottery? I'm really looking for someone (other than SWMBO) to fund an indolent lifestyle.

in case lottery moneys come in drop D4 and get a Unimog overland prepped vehicle Wink

in reg to underbody protection I would go for two options to make the vehicle almost bulletproof:

1. Prospeed kit
2. D44 kit plus Prospeed rock sliders

both have pros and cons but Prospeed if installed fully provides full length protection

Winch: I would get anything on good mount again coming back to D44 fron winch bumper awesome kit used it for a while a it is strong as Censored very well made
winch itself I would go for 12000lb one with plasma

Rack and ladder no brainer here: Prospeed rules and I am not getting paid by them at all Wink

Instead of spots get curved 50 inch LED bar with flood on sides and spots beam in the middle

Long range tank? hmmm Prospeed has nice jerrycan holders for their rack which might be less fuss and cheaper then installing extra tank

I would rather spend that money on swing away spare carrier

good luck with lottery Wink

If my lottery numbers came up, I'd keep my early D4 for sure. Ideal for mucky stuff. But I'd try one of those new fangled D5's (or possibly a late D4) and probably get the Defender replacement too, just because. Once I've bought the house with the space to keep them, I also think I'd have to have an Aston Martin, maybe an E-type jag, a couple of motorcycles, exact models to be finalised but one modern and one not. And something with long legs and comfort with more accommodation than the Aston. Possibly a FFRR, but there's already going to be a pile of LR stuff on my new shooting estate anyway, so perhaps something else. Or both.

I'd have an estate in Scotland, including a lowland pheasant shoot, a grouse moor and of course the odd deer wandering about, some tied houses and farms to keep the money ticking over and to house the kids. My house would include a billiard room, library, pool and an orangary. It would of course be ring-fenced against any nasty policies that might affect things by Nicola Sturgeon and her party.

*YAWN* Oh, time to wake up.
