Episode 2004.11.07 available at that site is the episode with the D3 up the mountain. There are some jumps in the video but it is watchable. TDV6 HSE Java Black

I hope you all managed to watch it just... well those in the UK at least.
Amazing is all you can describe what the big C did in his RRS.
Can you really drive that hard over that kind of ground without breaking the car ?
The wheel articulation on the RRS was unbelievable. Going over a ditch with two wheels at each corner in the air and two wheels on the ground was something to see.
It looked liked a longed legged creature with a big body stuck on top... giraffe, crane fly etc etc.
Is the DISCO3 that agile off road and does it have legs that long when needed ?
Sorry but I was seriously impressed. I know, I know the video was edited and there may well have been times when the thing was stuck in the mud but it really did say to me that LR have built another winner !
If they continue to revamp the range in this style then surely we really do drive the best 4 x 4 by far and those boys in the midlands build the best !
Makes me want to go out and take mine in the mud on Clee Hill NOW !
Wish I'd taped it so looking forward to downloading the piece from the site mentioned above... anyone know what codec they use ?

Well, its turned me, I saw the RRS this week at my dealer but it had crap wheels crap colour and i said i wouldnt by one...........however in black with 20" wheels and the dark glass i have to say it looks the dogs you know whats, watch this space i my be forced to defect soz cant afford both

I've driven a Challenger!
I went on one of those "Drive a tank" days last year at a place in Hampshire. It was incredible, I got to drive an APC (Armoured personel carrier), and SPG (Self propelled gun), A quad bike, and culminating in a drive of the Challenger.
The only drawback was that they would not let me take it out of second gear, or go around any corners It was still incredible though.

I had a good look at RRS at a dealer off road day last weekend. It is a great looking car, my wife was the only one I heard not to like it - she said it looked too sporty hello I said , that is why its called RRS! (I think it was something to do with the fear I might want to change! No chance)
I think JC is spot on about the split tailgate, it is so useful. He is wrong about buying the RR instead. To my mind the RRS is all about drawing people into eventually buying a RR, in the way perhaps people upgrade from Freelander to DS.
For me, the RRS is just not practical enough, but I reckon it will be a winner and is perfectly pitched against X5 DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

I've driven my old 90 on the same part of Salisbury Plain loads of times (my brother-in-law was stationed down at Tidworth with the Royal Engineers and their house backed onto the plain training area) and with the amount of water about, on that surface I would've been surprised if JC didn't get stuck a couple of times (who really cares when there's a Chally II to pull you out ).
Pleasantly surprised with the performance of the RRS on that terrarin but then again, it's a Land Rover.....so I'm actually not that surprised at all '96 Java Black 300Tdi 90 Hard Top

That means the wheel articulation wasn't all that great there
I've had 2 wheels off in my D3 and the interesting part was I couldn't even tell... I saw the red lines on the centre display after the spectators got all google-eyed! '05 LR3 HSE

watch it tonight if your in the UK... the wheels were hanging waaaay down and looked very far from the wheel arches. Maybe the ditch was very deep or was approached at the wrong angle to cause this ?

I was just ribbin' ya. The best articulating suspension would ALWAYS keep the wheels on the ground, but of course this isn't possible in some situations.
From my on-trail comparo recently I'd say the LR3/D3 has more articulation in the rear than a D2, same or slightly less in the front. Very impressive. '05 LR3 HSE
