Changing D4 seats for 2010 Range Rover Sport seats

Can anyone help please Bow down

I have to change the seats on my D4 because of medical problems. I have an old 'war wound' on my leg and since having the car have suffered massive leg pain, even numbness in my right leg (can't believe its so different from D3). For me the seat is just not right, too much of a dip in the middle, not flat enough and far too firm.
Please no jokes about removing my leg- wife has already said that it would be easier to do that than sell the car. Shocked

I'm currently at the end of trying various options, medical sheepskins, memory foam cushions, gel cushions, even imported a truck air cell seat topper from USA to try and make it better- nothing fixes it 100% and can't drive it for more than 1 hour stints.

Getting pretty serious now... don't want to drive it sometimes Sad

I have 3 options:

1) Change the seats for D3 ones- but think the wiring will be different
2) Change the seats for Recaro Ergomed ES- but these are £4000 for 2 seats in leather and sub frames are going to be a problem. An authorised dealer for Recaro are currently looking into this
3) Preferred option- change the seats for 2010 RRS seats- tried a RRS today and the seat is much flatter in the middle and softer

The RRS seat looks like it has the same frame and controls- just different foam structure

Does anyone know if I can do a straight swap or just change the seat base and back and keep the functionality on the seat- ie memory and electric controls?

Can anyone help with the relevant part numbers?

Pete (of Bellautos) From your previous posts you have fitted a RRS steering wheel and paddle shift- do you fancy having a go at changing my seats to RRS ones?? Bow down Very Happy

If I can't find a solution I will have to sell it and I really really don't want to do that.

Thanks in advance..... Chris

Not being funny but do Land Rover not have a disabled / special needs section, they do things for the military and other specialist uses, may be worth speaking to customer services and asking, you can't be the first with a problem like this.

I would try a vehicle upholsterer, they may be able to remove the covering of the drivers seat and adjust the padding to fit you.

seat surgeons could probably help and would be a lot cheaper than a RRS or recarro seat Thumbs Up
