There you go, you learn something new every day. To be honest, I haven't a clue what the noseweight is on my caravan (an 8 metre, twin axle job with an all up weight of 1900Kg) but I seem to remember reading somewhere that it's best to get as close as possible to the max permitted as it helps stability.
Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills Smile

Another point people do not always check is what the maximum weight the A frame or Hitch on the Caravan is designed to take, I am sure that a number of UK manufactured Caravans only have a A Frame / Hitch which is only rated up to 100 Kg. Wink

Australia 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Auto Chawton WhiteDiscovery 3

Hello All

Herewith a couple of pics of my rig. The Disco is a TDV6 HSE and the van a Trakmaster offroad van. As you can see it sits perfectly level. As per the manual I do not use a weight distribution hitch and the Disco and van sit and ride perfectly level (the van also has air suspension). The weight of the van is approx 2900 kg fully loaded and has a ball weight of about 265 kg.

On the last trip of over 3500k mainly on gravel/dirt roads of poor quality I averaged 15.4 ltrs/100km
