fuel gauge with a mid of its own
This has probably been covered before but can anyone help me with the location of the fuel tank level sensors as my fuel guage goes up and down more times per trip than a w#&$es knickers. did clean a couple of connectors a while ago which seemed to make things beter for a while but the problems back and its very very irritating. Any help will be greatly received.

You'll need to drop the tank to get to these - even then, the front one is a stretch ...Regards,

This rings a vague bell with forum member Taz Daz having the same sort of fault. Think it was a wiring issue. Maybe send him a pm and check? Now driving BMW 330d Touring....misses D3...but not when at traffic lights
senders are a real pain
there are 2 in the tank and the front or rear can't remember which is a nightmare to get too and needs really skinny arms and small hands to get to TLO has left the building.......

Yes, before you get into checking/replacing senders take a look under the wheel arch (cant remember which side but I think it's the offside) theres a loom that might have partly rubbed through on the chassis causing an intermittent fault from the sender(s). Had mine repaired and re-routed.

Thanks for all the replies. If i get home before dark tomorrow I'll look at the wiring, i like taking the easy option first.
