Drumclog Today

Headed down to Drumclog, near Strathaven today with a couple of friends. One driving a Mitsubishi Delica and the other in a L200. Running the bullet cam into a DVD camcorder, passenger in the Delica had a camcorder and this first clip was taken in full HD 1080 on my Toshiba Camileo S20.

Still to try and rip the DVD, as both camcorders aren't recognised on Vista, which is a pain in the neck. So hopefully add to the thread as i get on with the other two recordings.

Pom, ended up painting calipers last year. Disco wasn't even 12 months old and the face of them were starting to show surface rust. So a tin of caliper paint was ordered and a couple of coats applied. Maybe do them over in black this time round. Laughing

Yes, 1080 is so much better and surprising, as the Toshiba isn't any bigger that an iphone in size, though you have no zoom on full HD.

Next two in the sequence. The quality is getting a little better, but still loosing some of the final quality of the DVD by the time it's been ripped to a Mpeg. Now to see if they yank the soundtrack for copyright. Rolling Eyes

Ha, well photobucket let the first upload pass and picked up the 2nd on copyright again. Shocked

Hi Alan, looks like you had a good day down there. Where exactly is it you were? Are there any other decent places you go round here? My tires need to get dirty! Thumbs Up

Dave, do a Google search for "Drumclog", it's between Strathaven and Galston on the A71. It's an area of farmland, which has a top motocross track behind the farm building. At the same area is a section of woods they use for winch challenges.

The river, stream runs for quite a distance through the land as well. That was only a puddle i drove through in comparison to the actual size of the water.

At the other side of the motocross track is a 4x4 area, more for the hardcore guys. Though the ground is communal for use with the 4x4's, quad bikes, trials bike etc.

It's usually £10 for the outright off road vehicles and bikes for the full day. I've been lucky so far, as sort of knowing the farmers wife (money collector) from my days of using the motocross track. So she doesn't bother or hasn't till date charged us anything as we're not damaging the ground to the extent of the other vehicles.

The village of Drumclog is sign posted but that's about it. It's more a place that's known to those into motor sports. If you see the tarmac sand quarry, you will see a church steeple. You turn left at th Church and follow the road as far as you can till you get to a cross roads. Go straight through the unmarked crossroads and you come up to a bungalow and old school buildings, you bear left here. Follow the road and you drive past a wee cottage on the way into the 4x4 land. Thumbs Up
