No problems yet whatsoever |

In order to provide some peace of mind for those considering buying a new discovery, I thought it would be useful for those of us who have suffered no faults at all yet (fingers crossed) to show that some vehicles do get through without gremlins! Of course I may be the only person who ever posts here so perhaps we could include those whose vehicles are now fault free after fixing previous glitches.
I appreciate that most of you who have suffered are still pleased as punch with your landrovers and that there are a few who continue to suffer from poor service and failed repairs, so I really do not mean to gloat, after all, I could still get the dreaded ding followed by suspension crash next time I go out.
TDV6 HSE 6 weeks old and 1800 miles, no faults, no rust underneath and no leaks.

Following my SW upgrade to Version 8 I have no problems at all... never had mechanical only electronic... all warnings now gone.
Only 'missing' feature (still not completely confirmed by LR CS as not being standard on my car) is the Settings Menu.
Only problem I had today was my fault... smacked my passengers side door mirror on the gate post so having to fork out £88 for mirror unit (inc motor that comes with it like it or not) and a new glass (clips broken but glass OK) at £11
Fitting the mirror housing will cost £50 labour !!
Expensive and really should be available with out motor to cut down repair costs.
Oh well.

Had mine for two months, 2000 miles and nothing at all has gone wrong yet. This is our fourth Disco and never had anything major with any of them, even the mpg is better than the last TD5 auto we had.

OK, so I was the guinea pig then!! Mine now has 12995 miles on it, and (everything seriously crossed) it has not had anything go wrong for almost 5000 miles now.
I have to be honest, when the suspension software crashed and failed at 8000 miles, I was ready to drive it through the dealers showroom window and park it in the dealer principle's office
I absolutely love driving this car, it still feels very very special. I have not regretted buying the D3. I just wish land Rover would show a bit more customer understanding and communicate a bit more with us.

I've had mine for 4 weeks and was built Feb 05. Done 3000km (1863 miles). On the electronics side, I had one handbrake error and one "TR not available" message. After restart both cleared. On the mechanical side one of the A/C joints was loose and the gas leaked out after picking it up but it was fixed the next day.
Nothing else to report so far

8000+ miles and two months here in the US.
Only had one gremlin which turned out to be moisture in the electronic parking brake wiring loom. I gave my dealer a post from here regarding the problem and they inspected and sealed the whole wiring loom.
Ive had mine In the woods twice- both times I beat the hell out of it and it never let me down. It made it up trails that other LRs had to winch up.
Visibility is incredible.
Traction in the rain is incredible.
I have 100% confidence in the vehicle. Wa Hoo

1500 Miles at 5 weeks and it has been almost perfect. Two minor glitches:
1. Hand break fault, which cleared with a re-start
2. Rear parking sensor sometimes comes on and sometimes does not. I have a 6 speed manual. Anyone else have this? 2017 Disco5 First Edition(On Order)

There seems to be a sequence of events for the rear sensors... I find that if you wait a second or two after releasing the park break or foot break it comes on all the time. If your too 'quick' to reverse it sometimes fails to activate.
So yes... I think we all have seen this in the manual and auto cars.

"......they inspected and sealed the whole wiring loom"
freeflytim, I was interested to read this. How did the dealer go about this and was it an LR official fix, or just a helpful dealer improvising? I am about to pick up my D3 and have noticed that STILL new cars are coming out to dealers with exposed underbody wiring so any advice about protecting the electrics would be appreciated.

I should have said "inspected the loom and sealed one connector"
I was under the impression that after I showed them a post from here about the EPB, they contacted LR technical support who told them what to do.
These problems are getting fewer and fewer. I think we are reaching the quality build that would normally be acheived 18 months after startup- not 6 months.
Plus, its a Land Rover with a Jaguar engine. Whadda you expect
Just go get the damn truck! heh heh heh.
