I was playing with my faultmate last night and decided to reset the adaptive gearbox settings. I couldn't believe how much more responsive the car was after doing it . I have just done a 5000 km + trip towing a trailer off-road , so I guess this is why I felt such a difference.
I thought it might be worthwhile for those of you who can , to do something similar and see what results you get .
For the faultmateless , maybe ask the stealers to do it next time your car is in . It takes about 10 seconds to do , so hopefully you won't be charged

When I reset mine the other week I noticed a slight improvement, but not a great difference (I've always driven my D3 "energetically" anyway )
In fact I only reset it because I could, not because I needed to 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

I had my gear box/transmission reporgrammed by the dealer last week. I think it is a bit smoother on pick-up and is possibly a tad more economical. But difficult to tell.

So why did I have to keep checking in my rear-view mirror to see if you were still behind me on our way to Xavi's choice of beer outlet...? The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...
Club "yes, I too have had the EGR's replaced..."
Club "yes, I too have had the compressor replaced..."
Club "yes, I too once had the car at the dealer for a couple of weeks nearly 4 weeks over 4 weeks...5 weeks"
Club "yes, I too have had EPB failure..."
Club "yes, I too get mysterious bings and bongs..."

A quick question. Don't flame me, I have a quizative mind.
If BBS have "hacked" (rough term) into the CCF files to allow Wiggs etc to play around with the settings. Has no one hacked into the Blackbox to turn a single VIN user to a full VIN range user.
It is only software at the end of the day. HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE
