Disco 4 HSE Tyre lifespans 255/19/R55
HELP: Anyone out there that can recomend a harder tyre to fit 255/19/R55 than the Pirellis my Disco 4 was supplied with.
The car weighs around 3 ton and these Pirellis are far too soft for that sort of weight.
We have achieved only 12,500 miles (40% motorway work) from new and need replacing already, my previous Disco 3 managed 20K and I felt that to be minimal.
I find it hard to believe Landrover continued to fit these soft tyres which barely performed on the old model, to the new vehicle, which weighs 0.5 ton more.

Italian roads are pretty rubbish compared to the UK and they love their ''Strada Bianca' (unmade roads) tracks here which does not help, but I'm not sure that affects the wear.
Ours were not looking too bad at 12,000 km, but early days mate!
I know from my Disco 3 that tyre wear is an issue and was surprised when our Disco 4 arrived with the same tyres and 0.5 ton extra weight.

Sounds like Pirelli Scorpion ATRs would be a good option in those conditions.

Ta for the advice but I can't seem to locate these Scorpian ATRs in the Disco 4 size of 255/55/R19, any ideas?

They do them in that size, though Pirelli's website is not good for sizes etc. They seem to be in short supply in UK but I've no idea how to get them in your part if the world.
I run them on SWMBO's car (18"ers) and have been very happy with them in winter conditions.
I'm having a set of 255/55/19 ATR's fitted on Friday, by Silverline in Warwick. They are having to order them in however, so perhaps try Micheldever Tyres as I *think* that's where they come from. Don't quote me on that though.BV55 YZE, ex G4 Challenge RRS. So not a Disco 3. Well, not quite.

12,500 miles doesn't sound good - I managed 26k on the Zeros on my D3, though I don't expect to get anything like that from the D4 simply because I throw it around so much more... Even then, I have to ask how you're driving for the 60% that isn't motorway?!! Also, where did you get that extra half a ton? The D4 books at about 150kg lighter than the D3
