Locating Audio AUX socket on Disco 3

Hi,

I have just purchased a Disco 3 2007 Se 4.0 V6 petrol. i am trying to locate the audio AUX in socket to enable me to use the AUX button on the stereo. The manual states it should be at the rear of the centre console ... its not there. Any ideas on where to find it ??
Regards

Is there a flip cover on the back of the council that has the 9V socket? It should be under that cover too.

To add to what Sideview has posted:

Check on the back of the central cubby box/console between your front row seats :
If your spec included it as a factory fit then there is a black flap which opens upwards which behind it has 1. Aux Audio Jack socket & 2. 12v power socket. Connect via this for aux connectivity. The owners manual refers to it but not fitted to all spec levels (i.e base specs was not - mute point I had with LR on my first D3 as manual suggests its standard. This can be retro installed but chances are that the wiring for the aux socket may not be in your loom and its a Censored of a job to add it,the connection for the additional 12V socket will be though which is always useful - 10 min job and worth it !!.

If you have not got this but a plastic storage hole do not lose hope as there are several other retro fit options if you are up for D3 DIY - do a forum search on Aux Input and you will find info a plenty and very detailed.

If you need any further help PM me.

Thumbs Up

if there is no flip, then you'll probably have two 'trays'. If so, lever out the top one and thats where the panel goes that Si described.
When u take it out, have a poke around inside and see if there are any plugs inside, usually covered in grey foam when not used. If there are, let us know what colour they are. Wnt might be lucky and have the right plugs and then its just a matter of buying the right panel and you are sorted.

If wnt dont have them, no panic but as Si said its just a bit more complicated.

Hi Tanters,
I have taken out the top tray. There are 2 green pin plugs and an orange terminal plug. Any chance these are the correct plugs? If so what is the easiest way of purchasing the correct panel? Through Landrover??

Cheers

From memory the two greens may well be for the rear heated seats. ON the higher spec models, where the bottom tray is you would have the buttons for the seats AFAIK?

The orange one is for the 12v socket - if its got two holes in it and they are in an 'L' shape then its the 12v - if you get the new panel then its just plug and play.

I had that set up and what I had done was on the back of the panel with the aux socket, an electronics wizzkid soldered a cable (audio grade - not sure of technical term sorry) from there into the wires at the back of the stereo and that sorted it. He knew his stuff so not something I'd try myself - might be someone in your town could help.

I'm trying to find the threads on it so hang on!

On my base GS spec I spliced into the wires that ran down the LHS of the dash 'H' panel. So the wiring was indeed there into the head unit. This was a 55 plate. I'm not sure of the colour codes but may be able to find out later on
