BMW X5 wheels
Hi can anyone tell me if they have fitted bmw x5 alloys to their disco 3? I have just been offered a set of 20" kahn alloys off an x5 and don't know if they will fit also what about wheel nuts?
Thanks Gav.

X5 has the same PCD, and should have the same hub hole, but may have a different offset, so you might foul the brake calipers, and it might not be weight rated high enough (you're looking for at least 900kg). You'll usually need the kahn wheelnuts.
I've seen X5 alloys on a D2, but not on a D3.

weight rating should be stamped on the inner rim if you want to check that.
no idea on the calipers as Al mentioned sorryA happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

I know quite a few people over here that are running older (< 2007) 17" X5 alloys without any problems. I think the offset is different but they don't stick out enough (13mm?) to cause big problems (although admittedly most of the ones I know are running with modified height sensor rods anyway).
I think the newer ones have less offset but require a centering ring or something similar
The only thing is that the LR bolts may not enter properly so you'd need to buy some conical ones or stick some LR ones in the lathe and modify them...
The good thing is that they're often pretty cheap as lots of X5 owners change their 17" for 20+" wheels
I think the same wheels were also fitted to the X3 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Paul
Gav is talking about 20" Kahn alloys (aftermarket alloys), not genuine Beemer wheels.
