Pirelli Ice & Snow questions
Have found somewhere that does these at not to bad a price but the Pirelli website is pants on details so I still have a couple of questions after searching here and elsewhere:
Are they marked with the Mountain & snowflake symbol as needed in Germany etc??
Are they directional??? If not I'll get one as a spare.
Anyone know??
Cheers
Derek

I have them on my D3, but I'm offshore at the moment.
I think they have the symbol, or at least M+S rated required for norwegian use.
I can't recall them being rotation dependant.
I can tell you there not the best winter tyres I have driven on, but they are predictable.
I will try and get SWMBO to have a look and confirm.

What are these like as all year round tyres in the UK andy?
Main use would be general roads, with no real off road use other than the odd track in summer in the Highlands and pulling a horse trailer across muddy fields at shows in summer.

Cheers, will report in how they are vs MTRs.
Assuming I can get SWMBO's car out of the drive, D3s and 18" is snow are fun! Must get SWMBO out digging!

Well got a phone call from tyre fitters today saying that Pirelli had one Ice & Snow in stock in 255/60 18 size and they were only making for summer!!!! Mr Pirelli does this look looks summer to you, pic taken today!!!

Looks like it has to be mid summer to buy winter tyres!!! Was thinking of Verdestein tyres but have heard good and bad things of them so still thinking.

Had Ice and snow all year round on my Range Rover and was happy with them.
The Ice an Snow preformed much better in summer, in the wet, then their summer counterparts.
Thats perhaps why everybody buys them mid summer 05 TDV6 HSE AUTO 7seats, tonga green/alpaca, alpine roof, privacy glass, tow kit, wood kit, 20" stormers n summer, 18" in winter, fancy exhausts, rear seat ent., club fooked turbo!

I fitted the Wintrac extreme's on Monday; SOOO glad I did that!
They are fabulous winter tyres and so far have found grip on everything that I have found to drive over, I even "helped" a stricken gritter out of a ditch last night.
They have proven quite good on tarmac too, very stable and nearly as good handling as the previous Scorpions I have had.56 plate Zermatt Silve
