New Wheel Required?

Had my wheels balanced today as was slight shimmy at high speeds and have done 10,000kms on bad roads since tyre change.
3 wheels 30 - 35 out whereas rear left wheel was 120 out of balance.
Guy in tyre centre suggested I get a new rim.
Wheel never got a knock or anything must be just poor quality.
Any similar experiences?

Personally, I'd say ok.

Changed the tyres recently on my 19" FFRR seven spokes and they all took about 110gm ish when balanced.

When you think about it 30gm is nothing on a wheel the size of a Disco.

That's my thoughts anyway.

I'd go to another tyre dealer first there are plenty of options to try first before a new rim

Will have to get them balanced again anyhow as half the weights have fallen off even though new weights were used. Embarassed

If stickies did they use Bufsol to clean the wheel if clipplies then they are stupid (or maybe not) Whistle need a pic of the Rim

Go to another tyre depot take all weights off and obtain reading then get them to rotate the tyre 180 deg take a reading this way you find the tyre high spot. Most good places will do this shabby ones dont they just chuck weight on.

If the yellow dot is still visable alighn to valve lightest to heavyest

There is a science to rim mounting but it seems to have been forgotton by many as time is money

Went to another tyre centre to get a second opinion.
Was told that the rim was not the problem but the tyre itself was the cause.
He told me to put the spare on instead, however the spare is a good year as new and i dont want to mix threads.
As the scorpian ATR's are only two months old, i guess i can bear with it until next set due which should be not too long as i travel 1500kms a week on crap Irish secondary roads.
