rubbing sensation with 295 45 20 grabbers on? |
|
having had the 295 45 20's put on, i can feel alittle bit of movement through the steering wheel once i turn left or right, its only a little bit of rubbing?
is it anything to worry about ? and what am i looking out for once underneath the vehicle?
cheers chaps!

what year is your ? On the earlier (pre 07 I think) the bumpstop on the chassis rail was different (smaller) I think. If yours is newer, are you rubbing on that, as you would only get close to this on full lock, or is it nothing to do with the new toys, just the lockstops need greasing?
I've never run 295's on my new one, only on my old one, with no rubbing issues - I run 265/50's on my 09 model with no rubbing issues.
RonP's probably your man for this

Blimey...mines a my08, no rubbing.
Pop some chalk round the tyre and see I'd it's rubbing anywhere. Unusual with these boots!! Welcome "Lola"

if you look behind the wheel at the back you should see a metal pice with a sort of V shape in it sticking out towards you. These are the lockstops, to stop you turning the wheels too far. If these aren't greased, you get a rubbing/graunchy noise when on full lock. I'm sure somebody will describe it better than me.

My grabbers "just" fouled the inner wheel arch plastic on full lock.
2k miles later and they no longer touch... 57 RRS TDV8
