I had Cross Contacts before I changed to Grabber UHP's.
IMO the Grabber is a superior all round tyre.
The Cross Contact gave a much harsher ride.
My experiences only though Thumbs Up

edited to add: You should look at the Cooper LTZ if you want a beefier tyre and one that's very capable off road yet runs as quiet as the Grabber on road - an excellent tyre!!!

I'm happy with my Cross-Contact ATs...Done about 11,000 miles in them and so far no apparent major wear.

Can't really compare them to much else because I had a mix of Goodyear on the back and Nexen on the front when I bought my D3. Whistle

Thanks Gents
This is one of those things that most people have had trouble with, go with OEM size or be forced to use aftermarket products that may be illegal in some states.

LR should select a tyre manufacturer dedicated not to ripping off consumers but happy they have customers that want to purchase various designs from thier range.

I like the open tread pattern of these tyres. I'm swapping the tyres on my D4 as soon as I take delivery early January and if these had a proven track record for half-decent sidewalls (and were already available in 19"), I'd get them rather than the Pirelli ATRs that I've organised. Maybe next time round.

Probably only 8,000 km - mostly hwy drive. Haven't tried them in the rough stuff as yet but I'm sure they will do much better than the original Wranglers.

Good on the hwy - feel the same as the Goodyears -noise level the same.

Have had these on for 25000k's

I must state these are my first at's. In my opinion excellent tyres. Great ride, little bit less grip on the road than the wranglers (check out the continentals tread pattern, they are not meant to be slicks). Great drive around town, and on the freeway, pretty quiet, and although I drive reasonably hard, another 7mm or so to the "lugs" and when I wear down to the lugs, I will be getting the same again.

I have had no issues off road, and some magazine test rated these tyres as the best mud AT tyre available, close to MT standard. Soft enough compound to grip wet rocks etc. Not brilliant for sand, so need to lower pressures. I did Robe on about 20psi, which in hindsight was too high. struggled a touch, but also, first time beach driving for me. Got through without bogging down. Snow driving went well without chains.

Great all round tyre, thumbs up from me.
