you'll end up with a gap behind the headlamps at the very least - general consensus is they're a bit shorter
you'd need to add new lamps, grill and D4 front bumper...
now there's an idea - I wonder why no one has thought of that before....
will a D4 owner please take a tape measure to their front wing please?Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Well you've had the rest of the car apart, so why not give it a go. I can see a few others doing it once you've got it sorted Bodsys Brake Bible

Exactly... seems pointless making your D3 appear like a D4 when its not.
Bit like having a Fiesta 1.1 and trying to make it look like an XR2... its still a Fiesta 1.1

What's the problem with it?
It has always been done, a 200 TDI with 300 TDI front. An early Disco 2 with the later Disco 2 lights, a 1979 RR chassis with a later body etc.
I am doing the opposite, I make a 1984 90 from a 2003 TD5 but that is for road tax reasons. Roel

Beauty about these car s(and Mini's) is that they can be adapted and modified to whatever you want Bodsys Brake Bible

Oh yeah ...look at all those bobtail D3's It's not impossible but there are a number of changes at the front that will mean you are likely to require your spot welder 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

just order the vents and cut and fit, wont be exactly the same but close still
front wings are shorter on the D4 as HL are a bit wider/ going towards the back
are you doing the "Amber out" mod on you D3 light, Ã la Verydisco ?l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l
