I phone with Harmon Kardon ??? |
|
Hi, i just wasted half a day having Sextons try to fit a Parrot MKi9200 to my Disco 3 SE 55plate with Harmon Kardon system. They could only get the music sound through a 'low aux' which mean't absolutely full volume just to hear it (distorted)
i have a dvd on the ceiling currently using the Aux for the speakers when selectedd to play through the car speakers as well as the wireless headphones.
Is there any way i can get my I phone connected via bluetooth and have my I phone music available through the Kardon system? if so how and what products do i need? if you can help i will probably take your advice to a car audio person to actually do the work. sorry if this has been asked but i couldn't find a solution.
Many thanks
Paul

You need the Audio Connectivity Module (ACM).
It's very simple to fit yourself & can be had for about £130 I think from Yeovil Landrover (The Large One) Speak to Nick in their parts dept. Bodsys Brake Bible

yes via the ipod lead.
I have only just got a 3Gs phone last week, but on my car I can use the bluetooth and the ipod kit at the same time. The only thing is it doesn't charge, and you get a question everytime you plug in the lead to the phone which you need to answer 'no' to.
However waiting for a charge adapter from scosche to arrive tomorrow which hopefully should stop that message.
When I get a call come in, the music pauses, and then continues when you hang up. So far am pleased with mine, and makes changing music very quick when sat at the traffic lights or in a jam.
My bluetooth kit is factory fit with a software update a few years back and the ipod kit is from Jan 2007. TDV6 HSE Lux (2014MY)

The music should play through ACM and the phone part will play through your parrot.

So the music plays through the ACM but what button do i then press to select it FM/AM/CD/AUX and how do i select tunes? do i do it actually on the I Phone? as opposed to the Parrot buttons and screen? and the nice expensive Parrot colour screen and jog wheel and buttons ( MKi9200 ) are wasted as all it does is the phone?... is this correct?
It's such a shame as the Parrot seemed to be a lovely system. but i can't actually use it's features. Or have i missunderstood?
Thanks for your help on this though.

I'm not sure of how the parrot would have controlled the iPhone music as I don't have a parrrot, but the music with the acm connected to the stereo would enable the Aux button to play your iPhone music your steering wheel buttons will go forward/backwards through tracks. I have mine connected and held in a brodit holder with a dashmount mount.
Your parrot kit would only control the phone calls in that setup.
Does that help? Bodsys Brake Bible

Dont waste your money buying the ipod kit if you already have the parrot fitted as it is easily wired in to work as it should your fitters should not have wired the audio from the parrot to the auxillary as it is possible to buy the correct adapters to integrate the parrot to the harmon kardon so allowing it to work as it should. There are post about this in the recent past it is just a question of getting a fitter who knows what their doing.
