Now that system is on sale on the Continent...
Hello,
Besides Geoland in Belgium http://www.geoland.be/photos/DIII_1.jpg who seems to sale the system that you pointed out, the German preparator specialist Matzker has joined the fray...
It is in German and the prices are also German, but I must say that their integration of the system seems nice seen from outside... I would have to see the innards though and the power of the winch seems a tad low...
But they do have a bunch of stuff...
We've been talking to the UK importer of Matzker kit, hopefully we'll be able to pass some discounts onto site members soon The End

Following Chris' suggestion, I spoke to tbruk.com but the French suppliers of the winch mount don't do it anymore but as stated the German company Matzker are about to launch it. I'm on the waiting list for one 8)2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

Yep... Sounds more and more interesting this one !
I wonder if my quite nice dealership would be able to mount that one for me !
But still, is the system compatible with stronger rated winches ? 3,5T seems "light" for a vehicle as heavy as ours...Georgia On My Mind...

Nice job. Check out my pics in the private gallery. I had the same thing done. But I needed the roller plate in the front as I need the winch to pull a 1.5 ton boat onto its trailer and the cable needs guidance. I have a little black cover from Warn that clips onto the rollers. It is pretty neat.
Penguin I think Christyler is correct. The winch doesn't cover the intercooler anymore then before. It is pretty open in there.
I also have a removable tow bar in the front. What is this plasma rope. What sort of breaking strain? Most be much easier to handle?Bad day fishing is better then a good day in the office.

Don,
Sorry to say it but I doubt that you winch cable is goint to last very long, in the photo below, there is an awful lot of crossover
Winching anything with the slightest rolling resistance is going to cause flatspots (and therefore weakpoints) on your cable. This is more to do with 'hidden' winch mounts being inherently unsuitable for anything other than an absolutely straight line pull - even a plasma rope will get bunched up... It also looks really difficult to operate the freespool lever, which means that you will have to power out, another potential cause of plasma failure due to additional heat build up. Yes, they do look a lot neater than a more open mount, but IMO are not suitable for use in anything other than 'perfect' conditions, changing a cable, either steel or plasma would be a real pain in the bum too

10forcash. I hear your concerns which were consided. Yes I can't use the free spool but I only have to unwind 5m to pull my boat onto its trailer. I will not be using the winch for hard core 4x4. Keeping you cable neat is always a problem regardless of how the winch is mounted. The chap who installed mind said he could change the cable for a very reasonable price. So if I have to change once a year no problem. Thanks for your input. If I have any prblems I will post them.Bad day fishing is better then a good day in the office.
