Hi
My MY07 Discovery 3 need a new alternator and I called Craddock to get a quote...... I got the parts number LR008861 and the price of £167 + VAT. hmm sounds reasonable compared to the swedish suppliers...
Thought about it for a few hours and called back to get delivery time and shipping and the second person I talked to gave me a prize of £325 +VAT and a parts number starting with YLE500.... I asked him what the difference where compared to the LR008861 part and he said that YLE is for VIN numbers up to 8A and LR008861 is for VIN 8A onwards.
So the question wich alternator should i get for my 7A disvovery, the LR008861 or the YLE500 something?

The YLE number is the brand new part number
the LRO number is a service exchange unit
service exchange basically means factory re-conditioned and comes with the same warranty etc as a new one but as it's recon the price will be significantly cheaper
go for the LRO number TLO has left the building.......
