Yes, the hazards and door thing is inconvienient, but I find it extremely useful for hitching the caravan.

OK, without having my manual here, to setup the Land Rover logo to raise and lower the car, you have to turn the key to 1, press the logo button and move the suspension control up or down, and it beeps at you (you really need to read the book, cos I am probably way off here)

Once you have done this, you have the ability to raise and lower the vehicle by firstly turning the ignition OFF, then turn the hazards ON, shut the door, and by pressing and holding the LR LOGO button, and simultaneously pressing the lock or the unlock button, the car goes up - or down accordingly.

Really useful for caravans/trailers, or impressing your mates down the pub.

Beware though it certainly ain't no lo-rida man 8) 8) 8)

you can't Sad probably due to the H&S obsessed world we live in Rolling Eyes
or possibly as the hazards might provide a 'keep alive' signal to the central junction box

Thats the default setting from LR. Unless you have purposely changed it or even by mistake... my with opened the tail gate while I pressed for the lights... the key then opened the tail gate latch much to my confusion for a while.

How we found out about this as its not one of the functions described in the manual that can be set.

My manual says the key can be programmed for either headlamps, air suspension or panic alarm. How do you get it to open the tail gate? My model was a 55 reg - it doesn't have any reference to pre-heater either. Were these all early features I've missed out on?
