Differences in Prices.... 75k Service
Just had the service indicator tell me I had 30days till the next service ... unfortunatly being in N.I we havnt got the access the fantastic services offered on the forum by the inid's and dealers. So today armed with the LR Service Schedule I called the dealers in N.I..
Charles Hurst LR : £475 incl VAT
Donnelly Bros LR: £310 incl VAT
TP Topping LR: £300 incl VAT
Indi 1: £250 + VAT
Indi 2: £250 + VAT
Each quoted exactly the same job list:
Transfer Box Oil
All Filters
Rear Diff Oils
General other Service items
Any reasons as to why 1 dealer is nearly £200quid more than the others!!!!!

Booked in with Charles Hurst Belfast for 2weeks time.. they are doing a special offer atm, got the 75k service for £279 incl VAT
That really gets my goat - how do they justify a "special deal" when there is no difference in the product and people are not (usally) able to choose when they have it done (i.e dictated by mileage/age not through "ooooh I think i'll have a service done for a laugh").
Do dealers really think that by offering large discounts to attract customers from other dealers, that those people will stay with them for the next service irrespective of price?
Why not just set a good strong pricing policy and stick to it?
Quite a range and no mention of special offers. Vehicle is under warranty and I assume as main dealers they all have to do the same work so cheapest gets it.
Used Hursts for previous cars and never thought their customer care and service was anything special. And recently it was Hursts who called me to invite me to test drive the D4. Made my appointment and went down. I was a few minutes early so was happy to wait on the sales guy who i had the appointment with. Anyway after 30mins of waiting he becomes free and says sorry but someone has taken the D4 out already. I told him suddenly I wasnt so keen in dealing with them and walked out. I mean, I wouldnt expect that service buying a 10k car, let alone something worth 34k +.

Hi
No idea what costs would be, but Jamison Land Rover Specialists in Dervock might be worth a try.
Never heard of them but will check them out. Would they be ok for the warranty? Was going to call the BLRC (saintfield i think) and ask them too. Any one any experience with them?

The contact number for Jameson is 028 2074 2888 and BLRC is 028 97511763 (they are just outside Saintfield).
I have dealt with Jameson and found them easy to deal with. I have also used BLRC quite a bit for many years (mainly parts for D2 and RR) with no issues.
