Theres a set of 5 RRS 19's with 255/55 tyres over on the LRO site, under classified ads. Asking £600 for the five. I'd check tyre size as RRS usualy has 50 series tyres, although if really 55's then this is correct for the D3.

nothing to do with me, just noticed the ad.

Will 19inch wheels from the RRS be a straight fit on the D3. I was looking to fit Wrangler MTRs 255/55 R19's to them
Thanks Duncan

I've got these RRS alloys on my D3, straight fit. I'm just running 255/55x19 Wranglers, so not sure about MTR's.

Thanks Alan.
Does anyone know what manufactures make AT or MT 255/55 R19s. I can only seem to find the Goodyear MTRs ??. These may be a little bit extreme for motorway driving if I forget to take them off
Thanks Duncan

Goodyear MTRs are the only 19" option (AFAIK), they will outlast standard tyres so don't worry about using them on the motorway The End

Thanks Slimer,
Andrew S recommended them but looking at the Goodyear web site the picture of them looks a lot more aggressive than those on Andrews car, so I was a bit concerned as I need to tow a 8m caravan and boat (not together ) . I will have them on for the run up to the Lakes in Feb which is a few hunddred miles of motorway towing.
I have Grizzly Claws on my defender and they make one hell of a lot of noise on the motorway (but then again so does everything else on that car !!!).
MTRs it is then....... , Thanks Duncan

Dunc
just be carefull with any tyre that has a wide edge (I'm not sure that made sense). As the RRS alloys are 9" wide (the 19" D3 alloys are only 8" wide), there is only about 10mm of clearence between the alloy and the suspension upright. This isnt a real issue as upright and wheel move together, and standard 255/55's are fine (I've done 14k miles with mine on these), but if you've got something chunky, it may catch the suspension.

Thanks Al,
why is life never easy
I was going to fit 255/55 R19 Wrangler MTRs : http://eu.goodyear.com/uk_en/tires/reposit.../index.jsp
but now I'm not sure. I cant get hold of any D3 19 inch rims and new they are £250 ish + Vat, which is a bit much to get trashed off-road
I was going to look at some second hand RRS wheels tomorrow but am I doing the right thing ??
Perhaps I should go for smaller wheels...... any thoughts
Thanks Duncan

catch 22.
I believe theres more choice in off road tyres in 18"'s. I know normal road spec Wranglers in 255/55x19's are OK on RRS rims on a D3 as this is what I have. If the RRS alloys you're after are cheap, then go for them anyway. Dont be tempted to buy any Range Rover 18" alloys, even off a LM322 (latest shape), as the early ones dont fit, they foul the brake caliper.
Al
PS - if the MTR's sidealls buldge as much as those in the pic on the goodyear site, they'll foul the suspension upright on 9" rims. Volvo XC90 B5 Plus Dark
