Dynamic also do a 8x17 steel rim with a 30mm positive offset. To be legal in Qld the offset has to be at least 40mm. I had my hands on a set of the 8" wide rims but had to reject them because of the offset. Bummer.

The holes look smsller than the cut triangles of the old ones, this could affect the amount of cooling of the brakes Just an thought
Look quite good though

Brake cooling won't be affected. I suspect the change was made because a circle cut is less prone to stress fractures than a triangle.--

rmp,
You could be correct, and if the round holes strengthens the wheels this can only be good.
I have run a set of the older style for years on a Tojo ute, lots of weight, tough going etc and no problems.
Also these steel rims are much easier to get the tires of , the safty bead is rounded and in the field means they can be removed for bush repair easley. The alloy rims the safty bead is square sholdered and takes some bad language to get off, as well it is easy to cosmeticly damage , so for off road the steel rims are so good.
Cheers

Yep, agreed. There were some issues with Sunraysias cracking and they used triangles so this change is probably just to be on the safe side.
All speculation though. I might find out for sure.
Sounds like you need a little more washing-up liquid --

I thought the change might also have been because Dynamic were possibly threatened by Sunraysia to stop copying their design!
I agree that round holes would be less prone to fatigue cracking than triangular holes.

The D4 3.0TDV6 has 350mm front discs and 360mm rear discs.
The D3 V8 has 327mm front and smaller on the rear
The D3 TDV6 has smaller again on the front.
So be carefull about looking to get 18 inch wheels for the D4

I thought the D4 came with 18 inch as standard. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
