luggage retention
has anyone found an alternative to the genuine luggage retention system.
I think the net idea is a good one.
The landrover price is too much though, for an elasticated net & bungie.
I'm sure Halfords etc. must do somthing.
Anyone found a good product?
thanks

The LR kit does include to decent quality ratchet straps as well as the net, it is a bit expensive though.
Car accessory outlets and ebay are probably your best bet
If your lucky you'll get the genuine LR kit off ebay for £15 like I did The End
Got my net (no ratchet straps) thrown in with the vehicle.
Wasn't convinced at first - now wouldn't be without it...

I got the net with the car, it is really low rent, but works incredibly well!
I have a ratchet strap in the boot for heavy items, but its not Land Rover, its from Tesco. It 'fell' off one of their lorries in front of me, so, finders keepers

thanks SLIMER
guess I was lucky, just like you 'cos I have ordered a net for £15 of e-bay.
It said it was for Rangerover P40 (I think) but looks exactly the same, cant imagine much difference.

I sto... er... kept back, the net out of my last motor before I traded it in thinking it would be useful in the D3 - then when I picked the D3 up I found one provided (in the glovebox) for free! Now I have two!Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Same here Steve I've now got two nets for the d3 (one still in it's bag) and I've got the larger net from my previous td5 discovery along with the ratchet straps.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
1999 Discovery 2 TD5 ES Rioja Red, sold
2002 Discovery 2 TD5 ES Buckingham Blue, sold
2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Adriatic Blue, sold
2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 HSE Zambezi Silver, sold
2011 Discovery 4 SDV6 HSE Nara Bronze, sold
2016 Volvo XC60 D5 AWD Lux Nav Twilight Bronze, sold
2020 Range Rover Evoque P250 First Edition, Nolita grey, sold
2023 Range Rover Evoque P300e Autobiography, Carpathian grey
I got mine from one of the bigger Asda stores. About 3foot x 2 foot elasticated thingy and cost about 8 quid with the hooks.
I have also replaced the stick rear cargo lash down point with the multipoint lashing rail. Flexibility or what now, using the stock bolts and anchor points.
Cheers

Don't you get the net and straps with an HSE model anyway? Then it's a dealer supplied accessory for the lesser models.Matt

You do get the net with the HSE but you have to buy the straps yourself.1996 Discovery 1 300TDI ES Biarritz Blue, sold
