WRONG The three D4's that I have actually seen, have a grey leather interior (darkish grey but still very much grey) NOT black as per the black in my HSE.
The dealer even looked to see if the grey was an option, it wasn't. So it's not me being colour blind.

I think a little less of who's wrong and who's right might be more friendly.
The 2006 HSE you have, LT, has leather on the seats that differs from the later year D3 HSE premium ebony leather - which is certainly not a true black, and is much "greyer" than the black leather that I had on my 05 SE.
The D4 interior is billed as ebony, and that is a tad misleading. It is certainly not jet black, but even the Buckingham Blue on the Autotrader pic is lighter than reality. Dark grey would be a better way to describe the leather bits, though the rest is certainly more like true black.

i agree with winger here if you look at photos on land rover approved -08/09 ebony looks a very similar shade to the photos of the MY10 on autotrader.
still think almond dash looks better this time round and i have/like the d3 in ebony.Visiting from rrsport.co.uk

Winger, just my response to the very loud shouting on the preceeding post. Didn't mean to be unfriendly, apologies to anyone I might have upset.
Ebony is indeed very misleading & I agree that the pics. on the Autotrader Buck. blue car do show a lighter colour grey than reality.
But it's important that potential D4 buyers know that the Ebony leather is very much not black ,it's a darkish shade of grey. I for one was rather dissapointed by this

It seems more clear cut with the Range Rover, there are 20 different interior combinations, and the shades are named as Storm (for grey) and Jet (for black). A close contender is a new one called Arabica, a lovely dark coffee bean brown (nicer than it sounds) and Tan is also a nice bright orangey brown.
When I had the RRS SC, the interior was Ebony and it WAS jet black. You'd hope there'd be some consistency!1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

When (and that's a big Q at the moment) I have the £££'s, guess I'll pay my money and takes me choice
I was really thinking of a Stornaway with Alpacca (or whatever D4 version is) but concerened re. staining and wear when compared with my 4.5 year old ebony leather SE, which still looks preety good (Had it from new and looked after)

TBH, every second hand D3 I have seen with Alpaca interior looks grubby, the leather seems very easy to mark and stain, only the black ones seem to age well.1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

I think he means that there isn't actually a six disc changer on the D4 HSE doesn't he because of the iPod/USB gubbins.
All models, not just the HSE, have a single CD player.

LandRovers have magnum wine holders, with others you would be lucky to get a stbby to fit.
The leather is different shade from the back of the seats. Looks like it maybe a grey but probably darker than the picture shows. Here's a video of an LR4 petrol (full spec) with ebony interior.

I'm just posting this 'cause the gray leather looks more 'real' and beautiful than in the Autotrader pics. 8)
Anyone interested, have a look...

It is true and no hidden fact, they use higer grade leather on the FFRR than on the D3, you only have to touch it to see that. That's also why they can charge so much more for the FFRR.
I'm not blowing my trumpet or anything, but the leather in my car is now just over 4 years old. has done 85.5K and still looks beautiful and smells nice.
I have test driven several D3's with Alpaca leather with less than 5000 miles and they have been marked, grubby and pretty shabby looking, particularly on the armrests (with that lovely loose fitting cheap looking leather is put)
Its cheaper for a reason is all I'm saying. (Time for the flame suit )1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF
