I've always had a low growl when the TC locks up at lower rpms. I never thought that the car felt quite right as a result of that, but it's still driving the exact same way at over 250,000km so I'm fairly certain that it's just a characteristic of the car.
My TC will need replacing at some point in the future and I'm wondering whether that will make a difference to it.2008 RRS TDV6 - Chawton White/Black/Lined Oak - 20's, h/k, sunroof - 350K KM.

Apologies for bumping up a 10 year old thread - but has anyone ever got to the bottom of this vibration?
My 2007 D3 is suffering from it and I'm sure it wasn't like that when I first got it...?
Cheers
Daniel
Spent eons on trying to track down the issue. Addressed/tried everything in this thread to no avail. My local Indy dealer admitted defeat and just declared that it was one of those Disco 3 things. Decided I couldn't live with it any more and sold the car a couple of years ago. Have never been gladder that I had a warranty than I was when I owned a D3!
Thought I might return to a Disco once I could be certain such issues had been ironed out but the latest Discovery seems a very different beast, I don't know whether the issue continued with the D4.
It's the sheer utility of the Disco 3/4 that I found attractive, its do it all nature. Would have been very happy if the latest version had kept the D3's proportions, allied to updated mechanical,s but c'est la vie...

My D4 has just started developing this vibration / shudder at 150k (km). Almost 100% sure it's the dreaded torque converter shudder after taking my Land Rover mechanic for a drive. Will do the oil change and DR Tranny fix.

Have you have a wheel alignment done recently?

Wheel alignment within the last 6 months. Definitely the torque converter - happens when engine off load and gently accelerating - feels like running over a ripple strip and lasts for about a second. Usually happens between about 1600-2000rpm. Will do a transmission oil change and add Dr Tranny Shudder fix.1961 Karmann Ghia - Porsche 901 5speed, Subaru EJ20Turbo, Porsche 944 turbo Brembo's allround, Porsche Cayman 18x8F & 18x9.5R

Hi,
Has anybody managed to get this sorted?
I have the exact same issue with slight vibration and whining around 2000 rpm. Travel speed is not a factor as this happens at any speed, any gear and only around the 2000 rev mark. It does not happen while reeving the engine in Neutral or Parking.
Thanks,
Cosmin

Did a transmission oil change using Nulon Multi-Vehicle ATF (only one I could find that specifically stated a replacement for ZF Lifeguard 6, at a fraction of the cost of ZF Lifeguard) and 2 tubes of Dr Tranny shudder fix.
Instantaneous cure - vibration/shudder gone immediately on first drive. Amazing stuff - very happy.
My issue was not road speed related or load related.
Buzz through pedals and steering wheel at circa 1800 RPM, cured by new Alternator.
