Or do a search for XTC - he may know a thing or two about the existing wiring on your car "To finish first, one first has to finish ...."

As a wee aside to this if I may..................
What sort of power, as in amperage, does a typical CB / PMR radio draw ??
Just wondering if tapping off the AUX 12v outlet would be sufficient, or do I need to head for stronger sources.

12v aux will be fine for a basic setup (assuming you're not running a 300w inverter off it at the same time ), if it's only for occasional use a cig plug would be okay The End

Yep - mine is hardwired into the 12V aux power socket together with my Parrot and 7" LCD touchscreen (and with a phone charger plugged in) with no problems - the wires didn't even get warm after using all of them at the same time for a couple of hours.... 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue
