150,000 Miles Good or bad? |
|
So I want to buya discovery. I found an S. Has sat nav, xenons, heated seats and upgraded stereo. Cruise control too. Its well spec'd
Only problem, its done 150000 miles. Is this some thing I should be affraid of? Its the right money for what I want to spend as its going to be used for camping, towing and carrying the bikes.
Any input would be great
Am I best paying more to get lower miles? But this spec is good for a S

I think there are a few that have that mileage on here with no more than usual reported issues
Guess with that spec it is not ex HA?
Service History / owners ect?
Personally think a 150K car is a 150K car, irrespective of make - most of the 'inherent' issues would have been fixed by now if it has dealer history
Check it out and enjoy!!

I went to look at quite a few "high mileage" D3's when I was looking for for mine and came across an ex highways 55 reg with 237,000 miles on the clock. still in good order and full history so it shows that they will go on for a few miles if they are looked out to.

Mine's an ex-highways with 143k on it. These have had a working life but not that hard as up and down the motorway 2000 miles a week. To be honest to look at you could have thought that it had done 43K

The car has good history although its not something I looked at in depth. It has been well used, usual wear signs but not over the top. looks to have being use to tow a lot due to o few scuffs on rear bumper by electrics. Looks like some one hitch's up without a spotter. Not really fussed about that sort of thing as intend on doing a little off roading and scuff just add to charater Haha!

Nowt wrong with current Highways too
I think the D3 advertised above, XHY, is an ex-Sprotbrough Outstation car. I'll have a word with a mate who works there and see if she can remember what it's had done to it while it was one of ours.
