Breakdown cover

Trying to decide on a policy for breakdown cover now the Disco is over 3 years. Have narrowed it down to the RAC or Green Flag.

Need Roadside Assistance, Recovery and onward travel on a Personal cover basis.

Green Flag are marginally cheaper but this also includes Europe and SWMBO cover.

Any one got any good or bad expereiences of either, I have always used the RAC before but my head is saying GF and my heart RAC.

Why not the AA ? Shocked

The AA has the largest patrol force and has the LR breakdown contract .

If I had to choose between the RAC and Greenflag then it would be RAC as they have more chance of fixing it Thumbs Up

Greenflag are independant garages and tend to recover vehicles more Whistle

Hi ferrett

I use Autoaid www.autoaidbreakdown.co.uk/. I pay £37 a year for everything including spouse. How it works is that you call then and they send out a local garage to do the work, you then pay them and then send in an invoice and get the money back! simples! It's cheap because they rely on you not claiming the cost back.

I've used them a couple of times and they came out and fixed quick.

Only downside is that they use `local` breakdown where as the RAC and AA are better trained and fixing the fault, (although some may disagree!!) Confused

England

Hi there,

I'm in the RAC and had to use them Sunday morning at Portland in Dorset.

They got there in 20 mins and stayed ages to help my poorly D3.

Very helpful chap and pretty pleased with the service.

Luckily I don't have any point of reference but it's just my thoughts.

Not sure, always used RAC unless I had cover through the manufacturer.

Price is slighly up on the RAC and the assumption is that they pretty much do the same.

Maybe take a look at their cover and compare to the other two

RAC recovered me nicely when I burnt the clutch out on my evo

They took my advice when I said "don't bother sending a van, it's not repairable" and sent a truck within 20 minutes to take me home, over 100 miles Smile
