windscreen wipers

A dreaded topic I'm afraid. THe wipers have just got noisy this week. Not a blade judder this time but it sounds like the rack has dried out and is 'creaking' on every stroke - any suggestions how I approach the dealer? The D3 is 2 1/2 years old, just done 30k.

Cheers All

If those are the original blades I think you've had you mileage out of them and they are due for replacement for 2.5 years Shocked .
LRs are a fond memory, apart from the maintenance.

Second or third set of blades - I'm prudent but not that prudent Exclamation No it sounds more mechanical than blades

Does the amount of water on the screen make a difference i.e. is the creqaking caused by wipers sticking to glass, if not then it sounds like the linkages or motor.

Not really had many problems with the mechanisms on D3, the vblades have had a supplier change so would suggest changing the blades first, in my experience they rarely last more than 18 months before creating their own symphony on the screen...
