I have just checked the battery Voltage on my 07 TDV6 and was alarmed to see 18.7V on the multi meter. I have measure this voltage at both the battery and the accessory plugs in the front and rear of the car.
I thought max voltage should be 14 to 15V. Has anyone else heard of this. I will get it checked at nest service as I would think 18v could start to damage electrics & battery.

Are you sure the meter is acurate? 18 volts would be blowing bulbs etc for sure.
Try the meter on another car to see if there is a difference. If the meter still reads high (over 16v) then I would suspect the meter as not being accurate.

Check the voltage with the engine off. If that is still high I am sure your meter is wrong if the voltage is about right just below 13V that you have a problem.
I didn't check but if you have a Nav screen you could go in the hidden menu and read the battery voltage under the tab vehicle signals. Roel

The Alternator should regulate the voltage around 14.5v , so 18.7v will cook the battery !
First step is to check yer meter on another vehicle to make sure its accurate and if ok , poss faulty Alternator
P.S Dont leave it until the next service if it is overcharging
