Spent the morning underneath the D3 trying to get my rear PDC to work again. While under the car I spotted a loose wire hanging inside the rim of the right rear wheel. I had to remove the wheel in order to trace the wire and find the loose connection. Eventually traced the connection point to the brake pad calipers (see photo). Question is, what is this wire for? There is also one located at the left front wheel. Interesting that LR did not notice this loose wire when they serviced my D3 last week. I know that they removed the wheels during the service.

From your picture that's undoubtedly the brake pad wear sensor connection.
Just shared your post with SWAMBO who promptly replied that LR replaced the brake pads during the last service. It appears as if they neglected to connect the wire.

Sounds familiar.
I recently dropped in my own local dealer with My own L322, where you might appreciate my standing is several levels above customer level. By dropped in therfore i mean drove it into the middle of the workshop.
I was there on other business, so on my way through i threw the keys to the service manager and told him to put a new ABS sensor on the nearside front. They are cheap and i knew he had one in stock. I would pick it up the following day, as it was only fair to give him a while to fit it in. Sadly the fault i had with it was the same and i had cause to check out the EAS sensor on that corner. While i was there i noted the New ABS sensor and was far from impressed, Half a dozen Cable ties now replaced all the original clips and fittings. I now have quite a list of bits i need to get from TLO to put it right as well as the EAS sensor.
So i guess an neglected wire connector would be quite possible.
