Do I need Air??

Coil suspension 5 seater D3 are significantly cheaper than the others, while I understand that their spec will be quite low, it cannot be that much different to the GS.

I am also sure that the ride will not exactly shake your bones too much either.

Any coil suspension D3 owners like to offer me reassurance please? Anyone gone from coil suspension to air?

Cheers Thumbs Up

Many prefer air as ts more common in the uk. With regards to price you gets what you pays for really. If it's cheaper now it'll be even more cheap in relation to air when you resell.

Welcome btw!.

Several reasons for a coil sprung 5 seater being a lot cheaper.
Not the least of which is the suspension, I had a coil sprung loaner for a day, and the ride was nowhere near that of my air sprung 7 seater. There is a lot of extra stuff that comes with the air suspension, apart from the springs, there is the compressor, air tank, load of pipes and valves. Big advantage for me with the air suspension is that I can drop to access height when loading large stuff in the back, raise back up to "normal" height and the ride height is unaffected by the load in the rear. I'm not sure, but I think some of the terrain response functions are not available with coil suspension (I'm sure that someone will put me right......)

Also a 5 seater would be less easy to sit the gang in when we go out Whistle

my coiler is easy where ever it goes and it goes pretty well

and you are right there is around 300KG of kit not put on coiler hence slightly better MPGs lol

access height - how old are you lol

no terrain response at all apart from low ratio box HDC but still a disco3 right or shell I start disco3_colier.co.uk lol

cheers

reckon having a coiler would be nice really, alot less electrickery to worry about, lighter, 99% of cars/ 4x4's are coil sprung, just make sure you don't try an airsprung so you wont know what you're missing.

Great to hear that there is support for coil ones. The money saved outweighs the toys for me, and less money on resale? its ok it will be pretty tired when I am done with it.

Thanks for the welcome.

I love the idea but am too lazy to deal with all the issues some of us have with disco3 so less parts less to brake less hassle

m8 just make sure u get "right" vehicle check it out best possible

jump underneath first thing before u purchase and check for smallest scratches and ask where they from, leaks and all, check EPB on piece of steep road / ramp to make sure it does what it supposed to as getting rid of EPB issues are pain in the butt sometimes as ppl experienced

check all the buttons whether operate or not, got to low ratio box to check whether not seized from not used at all

blah blah blah

Dawn, it looks like you are pretty local to me, if you do want to try an air sprung D3, give me a shout, (but I must warn you, I think you'll like it.) Thumbs Up
