Sounds like the auto box needs a double flush
See here http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic27633.html? I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

and replace the pan filter along with tranmission fluid oh yea and re-config the gearbox settings...... had mine done by Yeovil, had our newbie member neils done last week by them as well (his under warranty, mine out of me own pocket )
should get away with a single flush and refill rather than the extra expense of double flush and refill as you have to use shell only oil for the gearbox/transmission, cheapest option is to buy the fluids from TLO (the large one, parts manager of yeovil LR) on this site as the your dealer with probably charge full retail at best part of £22 per litre, you need 7 litres per flush....alot of money, big discount from TLO!

Just out of interest why Shell?
I know Land Rover say it has to be but isnt there another ATF that meets the same spec by another oil supplier...

fraid not matt, we've all tried that route, even speaking to shell themselves, oilman suggested that he would front a 22 gallon drum of the stuff if there were enough of us that wanted a litre or 2
