TDV6 and TD5

Hi All. I have a 02 TD5 with 45000 miles, I also have a D3 TDV6 55 plate with 20000 miles. The engine oils and filters are changed on a yearly basis. The TD5 does about 7000 miles between changes and the TDV6 does about 5000 miles between changes. The oil in the TD5 is relatively clean when I change it but the TDV6 is black. It actually starts to go black after about 1500 to 2000 miles. has anybody got any thoughts as to why the more modern engine is not as clean.
Thanks Roger 47

The TD5 has a centrefugal oil spinner filter which takes a lot of the black carbon out of the oil and keeps it cleaner looking longer

I blame the EGR valves
In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
