Do they all smoke.

OK, i know diesels are oil burners so i guess they should smoke.

Just happened to be doing the front gardens as SWMBO and Junior SWMBO went out, spending my cash, watched it up the road to check brake lights and noticed smoke from both pipes. Bluey/white, not excessive. Will get a drive by when shes warm to see if it does the same.

Just curious thats all.....or am i looking for excuses to part company and get a D3 + 1.... Wink

Had it been left idling before it was driven off?

Probable 1.5 to 2 mins, then reversed 30 Mtrs then 1 to 2 gear to end of junction 80 mtrs, i noticed smoke on change to 2nd ( manual), or in higher rpm in first

I've been using Millers Sport Diesel 4, which has dramatically reduced my D3's smoke output. Very unscientifically I estimate an improvement of 1-2mpg & the engine seems to rev more freely.
