Towbar query
Apologies to you all, I'm a newbie D3 (56 plate 's') owner having had a d1/2 previousy so not used to these new fangled removeable towbars. Picked up the car from the dealer with the towbar in place and just just can't seem to get it off the car. The key turns in the lock but the lever doesn't want to slide out far enough so I can rotate it. Am I doing something basic wrong ?

Welcome to the site
Once you have turned the key .,.you need to pull the green handle out (towards the drivers side ) ..then turn it downwards ...watch your toes as it should drop out . It may need a little bash with a rubber mallet if its been in for some timeG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

I've got as far as sliding it towards the drivers side but it just doesn't want to twist downwards (the green handle with the key in that is). I'm only getting it to move so that I can see about about 1cm of the red indicator beneath. I've soaked it with Gt85 thinking something was seized - I'll give it another go tonight

from what you say as to how it should work it does sound as if the lock has had it. At least it's locked on and I should be ok to use it if I can't get it back to the dealer before my hols.
