Good price for an XS?
Hi
Still looking at buying soon and have been offered a 'static demonstrator' XS with 10 miles on the clock. Already registered. OTR price of £33k. Good price and any disadvantage of being second owner - probably not in this case. Previous offer from different dealer was 34k brand new.
Cheers

IMHO I wouldn't be purchasing a D3 at present as the depreciation will be very steep in 12-24months time.
I am guessing probably loose £10k in first 12 months once D4 becomes establised.
Understood from my dealer that LR were due to launch a D3 special edition in the summer which was loaded with toys but not seen any evidence of this yet.SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE

I was at Farnell LR in Bradford yesterday and they have a forecourt full of 08 plate SE models with low miles, range in price from £26 to £28k. All these are a much better buy IMHO, depreciation hit already happened and they are SE spec so better than XS

in agreement with CFB, bargain... one wife.......livid
If you want new then have a look at the brokers. www.drivethedeal.com are doing new XS for £32300. That includes Auto, Bluetooth and metallic. A much better deal than you have been offered for a pre-reg. I was lucky and got my new car in January with this spec for £29k.
I disagree with the doomongers saying "don't buy new." The D4 will be pricier and tghe discounts lower. If yu are keeping the car for 3 to 4 years the difference will be negligible.

I'm not a 'doomonger' but astute business man thank you.
Just because its not the answer people agree with doesn't mean its wrong or negative. SOLD - 23my Range Rover Sport D300 Dynamic SE
I got my XS manual registered April in late May with 4 miles on the clock for £29,995 including £500 (+VAT) for after market heated front seats, rubber mats, 6 months RFT etc.
You should get one for about £29 to £29.5k IMHO.Am I Gammon or Woke ? - I neither know nor care.

I’ve never been described as astute or a business man but I do know Land Rovers. The TD5 did not devalue as a result of the introduction of the D3.
In December 2005 I walked in to several Dealerships hoping to take advantage of cheap TD5s. I was looking for the run out model which I think was called a Landmark? I was prepared to pay £20k for a 04/54 plate. They were fetching £22k so I bought a new base 7 TDV6 manual in Buck Blue for £26k.
Just a comparison, the D3 had been out 12 months at that time. The D4 is a face lift which did not change the D1 when it went from a 200Tdi to a 300Tdi or the D2 when it got fancy lights and air suspension at the rear.
Hell what do I know. If you want one now by a D3 if wait to wait and pay a hell of a lot more then by a D3.5 D3 gone for now

Hi Sd, i got my xs d3 with various extras, auto, metalic, bluetooth, heated seats, tow pack, for 30k in may. so for a couple of grand over 2nd hand you could get new, with my scrappage deal mine cost me 28k new, so cheaper than second hand.
I dont like the look of the d4 to much form over function, if its got what you want, go get it, after all 33k is still 6.5k under list, so sod the depreciation life is not about ££££ its about
thats my farthings worth

depreciation.... whats that, bought mine last November and it's gone up in value but I think that was when the dealer market hit rock bottom.
Prefer the XS over the SE cos it has what I wanted...sat nav, heated seats, privacy, pti
Good luck with whatever you decide to do
PS - check whether it's an 08 or 09 MY.......09 will have body colour wheel arches, sat nav and leather seats at least
