You'll need to wire in resistors....... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Good work But it's OK to pull the lens apart and remove the reflector but not to put an LED bulb in because it could fail an MOT
Hi
about LEDs, the Philips Silver Visions do not come in our P27/7W (aka 3157 (took me a while to find out the name switched it seems...) so i need to source another 3157 in silver.
they are pretty rare but one can find them online (I always try to buy locally before buying on line)
In my search i found 2 types : the actual 3157 buld then the LED version of it.
does anyone know if this 32 LEDs bulb would compensate the fact there is no fresnel lens anymore ? As much as i would prefer the regular bulb type, the fresnel missing is a bit worrying. Also, doesn't the Disco 3 has probleme with LEDs (not enough resistance ?)
With Regards the above, i have added LED bulbs after doing this modification and everything works fine except for the ticker as its now going to fast as if i have a bulb blown. i have been told to wire in a resistor to compensate the low resistance caused by the LED, but i am unsure what size ohm resistor, how to wire it parallel/series etc. etc.
can anyone help?

Wire a 10 ohm 25 watt power resistor in parallel with each lamp, that will fix it.
It's just so as the new "combination" (LED + resistor) draws about the same amount of current as the original bulb.
The aluminum cased ones are ideal as they can be fixed down somewhere to make them more secure.Clive

Do you mean the reflector strip ? If so it's on the outer side of the orange lens.
Rob , looks very 8) , Think on your colour it works well without the orange relectors

I would not to it to any D3 really, some of them stand the orange bit quite nicely, others are plain wrong with it, like my Maya gold was...
nice job
you will get over the LEDs, they do not get bright enough, get the orange or the chrome ones
what did you glue the orange strip with then ?l=Oo\________/oO=l l:Ool======loO:l
